heart melting moment

We were all doing our own thing, I look over to see this.
He was in his mind reading. He looked up at me and said,
"Mama, I'm almost done with the first page. I can't wait to get to page three because that's were Jesus starts talking! Because the red means Jesus said that."
Even though he can't actually read yet, you wouldn't know it, he was in full concentration and talking out loud all about what God does for us and how much He loves us. It felt like it was an eagerness from
a five year old to learn more about God.
No greater joy for a mama.

hard at work.

Yay!
Thanks to friends that know stuff and are willing to help!
Though, I must say I'm very proud of Chad.
He's done 98% of the work himself.
He's becoming quit the handy man!
The entry was already beautiful, but I wanted it custom to my needs and wants.
After this project, downstairs will be complete!

Infusion #36

Meet Dr. Cooke. Chad's MS Doctor.
When you have an ongoing illness, you tend to think of your Doctor more then what maybe someone that sees their Dr. maybe once a year. Also with this illness it's such a mystery, you feel more as a team. They always want to hear anything new, they are always having to think outside the box, but most of all they really don't know what to do for you, so they do their best to make you comfortable as best they can, cause everything else is pretty much a mystery, Chad is a walking mystery to a Dr. like Cooke, so when talking with him, you can see that all over his face. I know Dr's are a way God works, but in our case it's a reminder God is the only one that truly knows Chad's future with his health, and He's the ultimate healer.
Chad's infusion went well today. Sleepy, but well.
Can't believe he's already been on Tysobri for
 three years now.

Class {in session}

It has been class time around here morning to night!
This is our girl that next to never imaginary plays,
especially on her own.
The last two days have been way different!
She's acting like a few of her girl cousins, she must have learned a thing or two over the weekend!
She is teacher to her stuffed animals,
in her own world,
and not quiet or shy about it!
She does this as soon as waking up, on her breaks from school, and after school is finished!

the aftermath

Wow.
Such a full weekend it was!
A dream for my kids!
Cleaning only once after 15 kids hard at play, that's the way to do it!
I must say, I was so surprised it wasn't 50 times more messy.
I guess Kira and Camden cleaned up a bit.
Thank you kids! It wasn't a bad clean up for me at all!!!

the toothless cousins

These two girls have now lost the same four front teeth.
Mama knew this had to be a snapshot moment at some point during Caleb and Megan's overnight stay.

It's so nice that you guys can now make your own Lincoln Log houses!
Hours of fun indeed!

Thursday, January 20, 2011

I was making lunch and I turned around to see this!
My calm, easy going boy, that doesn't do anything out of the ordinary
was acting like a lil monkey, and he does it super fast and with little effort.
For a small moment you were indeed our little monkey boy!

cocoa for two

First play outside on the swings in a long while...
but that meant cocoa to warm up those lil hands, cheeks, and noses.

Preston during Preschool

Preston, I've been so proud of you.
You have come so far in such a short time.
Mama now feels you're on the right track.
You now love to learn, you're learning
quickly and soaking everything up.

"toothless"

Yep, that's what we'll call her!
She was on the phone calling the grandma's
as I snapped a photo of her just after she pulled her tooth herself.
This is number four now lost!
She's pulled three of four herself!

Saturday Morning

Growing up I remember having those winter Saturdays were you sleep in and stay in your pajamas for awhile doing nothing but whatever sounded fun. Well this was one of those Saturday mornings... no school, very little chores, and no plans for the day. I think even they really enjoy these laid back days of nothing planned.

a growing friendship

Aren't cousins the best?!
Kira's one and only request during her Christmas break was to have Gwyn come have a sleep over. Well, both girls were sick and we postponed it till today! My heart keeps smiling as I've been hearing multiple times, "I'm having so much fun!" "This is so fun!" from both of them at different times.

No sickies, just one of those days.

boys and thier toys

So in our house you will almost always see cars of this boys in our living room. He plays really well on his own, but he has to be in the same room, not locked away downstairs in his bedroom... I don't blame him! Last week it was GI Joe's, this week it's been this. Next week who knows! But he rarely goes very long without getting his cars out for a spin. Kira on her breaks will join him with whatever he has out. They almost always play together, though this dude has had to play a lot more on his own this school year.

lil creations

Kira loves to make everything out of anything! (this is where she reminds me so much of her cousin Kenna)
I'm excited to start documenting this stuff so I don't forget all her lil creations.
Even though she has a nice table and chair set for her doll house, she still came up with this idea to make it out of paper and tape! I also adore the place setting she made for the table! She makes this stuff just cause, it will lay around till I make her clean it up, then she usually throws them away... she just likes to create things for just because. I wonder if she's heard mama talk about a table style I want?? I've been wanting a table with a bench or two on either side... this is exactly what she created!

16 week checkup

Kira and I went to my Dr. appointment today.
It was wonderful! I didn't get Melissa this time as nurse,
but I got Bowden as Dr.
I.love.her.
I feel she really cares about my health and baby.
She takes her own sweet time and I LOVE that!

We heard the heartbeat. 155 beats per minute, still on the fast side!

We set up the ultrasound!!! In one month we'll know... well 98% of the time they can see what it is, so if we can't see, then we'll know it was meant to be a surprise! I'm banking on the 98% though. ;)

I was so happy to be with just my girl, so what are two girls going to do on a rainy, cold morning???
Nothing better then this!
Oh did you happen to see the hole?? She had just got through telling me she has a hole for her straw, then I snapped the picture.
Fun, cherished morning for mama. I love this happy, carefree lil girl of ours.

bedtime story

I love watching the kids and daddy enjoy bible story time before bed.

I'm already behind, but for good reason. ;)

So I loved the idea of challenging myself to get my camera out each day and take pictures of random things that happen each day.... not for everyone else, but for mainly me. I get sad when I realise it's been weeks since I've even picked my camera up! Well not no longer!! I'm going to try and capture simple moments or moment each day. I've already started, but haven't been able to post till now! Now I should be mostly good to go, computer up and running, and  DSL!!!! Yep, you heard right, WE, Chad Beck's have DSL!!!!! Okay, maybe you all wouldn't understand our excitement with your fast connections for years, but this is big if you plan on posting each day! I probably wouldn't even think of doing this if all this didn't fall into place.

I hope to keep it simple, yet us. I had this name in mind for our blog for months, because, well, it's our life as we know it!!
